Welcome to the Annie Foote School Learning Commons!
Your child will bring home library books from the Annie Foote Learning Commons for the school year 2024-2025.
Students will visit the library, once a week on their designated day and are allowed to borrow books.
Signing Out Books
In order to exchange their books, students will have to bring their book on their scheduled Library time and day. By doing so your child will be able to enjoy a wide variety of reading materials.
I am happy to renew the books one time per week for your child. If your child needs to keep the book for another week, he or she may be able to do so if another student has not requested the book. I have a variety of resources to help you and your children choose books that they will enjoy reading. I will send out reminders for overdue library books. If your child looses a book and it cannot be found after four weeks, I will send a bill home.
Caring For Library Books
Please encourage your children to look after their library books. Children should not tear or crease the pages, bend the spines back or remove the plastic jackets. Please handle the books with clean hands and keep books away from leaking water bottles and food. If the book is accidently damaged while it is signed out to your child, please send the book back to Ms. Hirji to be mended. Depending on the damage, I will send you a bill towards the cost of replacing the book, including the plastic jacket.
Students are asked to keep their library books in a LIBRARY BAG in their backpack when they are not reading them so that they will not be lost or damaged.
As your child’s librarian here at Annie Foote School, I am thrilled and excited to serve your child. I look forward to helping your child become a critical thinker, an enthusiastic reader, a skillful researcher, and an ethical user of information!
Please encourage your child to read and enjoy our library books and other materials and return them on time. Children love reading with their parents!
Happy Reading!
