Hello AFS Families,

What a wonderful week we’ve had.  It’s great to have our returning students and many new students joining us after spring break.

Zoo Grade 5

The Grade 5 students went on a field trip to the Calgary Zoo on Wednesday and had a wonderful time learning about animal habitats. They were fortunate to encounter many different animals including a polar bear, giraffes, hippopotamuses, lions, wolves, and snow leopards to mention a few.  Thank you to parent council, volunteers, Mr. Leonard and Ms. Saran for making this trip possible.

Our Kindergarten “graduation” photos, class photos and sibling photos were taken this week.  You will receive proofs in a few weeks.

Swimming

Swimming for our Grades 1-3 classes begin this week.  Parents, please ensure that your child’s forms are in or they will not be able to go to the pool.  Mr. Murray has included all dates and times for the classes on the letter you received this week.   We look forward to providing a positive learning experience for your children.

Trickster Theatre

Our Grade 2 classes are working with Trickster Theatre this week.  This drama-filled afternoon enriches the new science curriculum!

School Council Meeting

Our monthly School council meeting takes place on Thursday, April 10 at 6:00pm.  Our Grade 6 team will be presenting.
