Parent-Teacher Conferences
Our conferences on March 20 and 21 will be held ONLINE. Next week you will receive a message from the office with details and information on how to book a conference. The process is the same as the November conferences but an online link will be included in your return email. Please do not come to the school on these days.
Book Fair
We are excited for our Scholastic Book Fair! Please note that this year, parents are invited to come in and purchase items during school hours from Monday, March 17 – Thursday, March 21. Students will be viewing books the week before. Please read Ms. Hirji’s letter that explains the Book Fair in more detail.
Survey
Each year schools ask for feedback through an engagement survey. I would kindly ask that you read the documents (School Development Plan and Report to Parents for Fees) in order to answer the questions on the survey. Your feedback is valued! The survey is open from today to March 15, 2025.
To date, only ONE parent has completed this survey. With almost 500 students at our school, it is very important that a number of families take 5 minutes to answer a few questions. Thank you.
The documents you need to complete the survey are attached on the Our School page under Related Information or here: School Development Plan and Report to Parents on Fees. Please note for Fees that there is currently no cost to families for any activities or field trips.
Volunteers are Needed
There are number of field trips, swimming lessons and indoor events coming in the next few months that will require volunteers. Teachers will be sending out detailed information about their class opportunities with information about how to do a police check and become a volunteer. If a class does not have enough volunteers, unfortunately the activity will be cancelled. We do not have extra staff at the school that can leave the building for field trips.
For swimming, volunteers who can stay at the pool for a half a day are appreciated. You can volunteer for more than your own child’s class.
Casino – May 31/June 1
The Parents of Annie Foote Fund Raising Society is excited to share that we have been granted another casino event at ACE CASINO AIRPORT (40 Aero Crescent NE) on SATURDAY, MAY 31 and SUNDAY, JUNE 1. We are eligible for an event like this every eighteen to twenty four months. The funds raised from events like this is what enables us to provide students with field trips, in class speakers, new technology, school resources, and more, at little or no cost to families.
This is where you come in – WE NEED VOLUNTEERS! You do not need to have prior experience or have police clearance. Volunteering at a casino can be a lot of fun. You’ll get a free meal (the food at this casino has been amazing in the past), and it’s a great way to meet other people from the Annie Foote School Community. We would love to see some new faces this year!
Information on the various positions will be available on the Annie Foote School website. Shifts each day will run from 11am-7pm, 6:30pm-3:30am, and 11pm-3:30am (this shift is only for the Count Room). We need nineteen volunteers (plus backups) each day.
