Dear AFS Families,
What a wonderful week of celebrations we’ve had! On Wednesday, the classrooms were full of pink to celebrate Pink Shirt Day.
We also had a wonderful Learning Celebration presented by the Kindergarten and Grade 6 teams. These ‘buddy’ classes demonstrated their learning about kindness, equality and Black History Month. A big thank you to Ms. Grover, Ms. McIntyre, Ms. Dhaliwal and Ms. Brewer for organizing such an impactful assembly.
Congratulations to the students who were chosen as this month’s book draw winners for demonstrating the virtue of kindness.
Outdoor Recess
A friendly reminder that it is very muddy and wet outside on the playground. Students have been asked not to play in puddles or play carelessly so they don’t fall and get wet as the school does not stock extra clothing.
Volunteers are Needed
There are number of field trips, swimming lessons and indoor events coming in the next few months that will require volunteers. Teachers will be sending out detailed information about their class opportunities with information about how to do a police check and become a volunteer. If a class does not have enough volunteers, unfortunately the activity will be cancelled. We do not have extra staff at the school that can leave the building for field trips.
The Week Ahead

Have a great week,
