Dear Annie Foote Families

Thank you to all of the families who attended Parent-Teacher Conferences despite the poor roads and weather conditions.   We appreciate you taking an interest in your child’s learning.

Mayor’s Food Drive

Our annual food drive begins this week and runs through the month of December.  In the past our Annie Foote community has been very generous in bringing donations.  Items most needed include:  pasta, canned pasta sauce,  canned tomatoes, rice, diapers, formula (glass jars cannot be accepted)

Winter Resources

Our student social workers have compiled a list of winter resources and low cost winter activities.  Please hope you can take advantage of some of these opportunities!

Breakfast Club

Our breakfast club is going strong!  As a reminder, students living in TEMPLE must be at the school for breakfast between 8:45 and 8:50.  We cannot accommodate students coming into the line up when the 8:55 bell rings as this is the only opportunity our bus students have for a ‘grab and go’ breakfast.  Students who have already had breakfast at home should not be attending breakfast club.

Traffic Safety

We continue to remind you of traffic safety while dropping off and picking up your children.

  • Use a parking space to quickly drop off your child.  Staying in a valuable spot does not allow room for other parents to drop their children off.
  • Do not park across the crosswalk or park in the handicapped zone unless you have the appropriate pass
  • Be mindful of our patrollers who are helping our students cross safely
  • Do not do U-turns in front of the school.  There continue to be several U-turns in front of the school on a daily basis. This hinders the roadway in two directions causing a back up of traffic.  It is also unsafe and illegal.

Please respect all families who are doing their best to get their children to school on time.  Following the rules of the road and being mindful of the number of people using parking spots will help us get your children to school safely and on time.

Late Arrivals

We have had a very large increase in the number of students arriving to school late in the morning.  The winter weather is here to stay for a few months so we ask that you adjust your schedules and leave extra time to arrive at school.  Doors open at 8:55 and remain open until 9:05.  We appreciate your efforts as late arrivals take a lot of time for the office to process and cause an interruption to the classes that have already begun on time.  Thank you.

Have a great week!

Heather
