Happy Friday AFS Families,

Yesterday the Grade 4's ventured back to the wetlands to explore.  They used their scientist eyes to look for differences from the winter walk they engaged in.  Students were involved in discussions about living and non-living things they saw on the walk.  Some of the living things they saw and heard were, hawks, Canadian geese, red-winged black bird, frogs, crickets, trees, flowers and gophers.

Wetlands Spring 2025

Spell-a-thon

Congratulations to all students who studied and were successful on their spelling tests.  Monday is the very last day to hand in any money to your teacher.

Spring Concert – Thursday, May 29  5:15pm

Our spring concert is this week!  All students from Kindergarten to Grade 6 have been preparing their performance during their classes.  Therefore, all students are expected to participate.

Because of the size of the gym, we can only accommodate parents with siblings who are too young to stay at home alone.  We would love to invite other relatives and friends but there will not be enough space in our gym.

Doors open at 5:15.  All students will go directly to their classrooms, while family goes to the gym to take a seat.  The concert starts at 5:30 and will be approximately one hour in length.  Our audience is expected to stay for the whole concert.  At the end of the performances, parents will pick up their child(ren) from youngest to oldest from their classrooms.  Students cannot be picked up earlier unless there have been prior arrangements made before the day of the concert.  Children will not be dismissed from their classroom unless there is a parent to pick them up.

We are looking forward to a fantastic event!

Bell Times/Transportation/Walk Zones

You may have heard from the Calgary Board of Education regarding some schools changing bell times, adding bus routes or adjusting walk zones.  There are NO CHANGES to Annie Foote for the upcoming year.

Bus Families

If your child takes the yellow school bus, you would have received a message from CBE on Wednesday, May 21.  Registration is now open. Registration is available using your MyCBE account. (If you do not already have an account, learn how to create one.)

Sunday, June 22 is the deadline to apply for bus service to ensure students are added to routes for the start of the school year.
