Dear AFS Families,
We’ve had our first busy week with swimming. Our Grades 1-3 students are thoroughly enjoying their swimming lessons. Thank you to those of you who volunteered in order to make this opportunity possible.
Yo-Yos
Ms. Buzanko has been absent this week and will hand out Yo-Yos to students at the beginning of next week. Thank you for your orders.
Street Safety
We are thankful to have a wonderful group of Grade 6 patrollers. We have noticed that many parents, along with their children, are crossing in the middle of the street. There are also parents walking their children between busses. PLEASE SET A SAFE AND POSITIVE EXAMPLE FOR OUR STUDENTS BY USING THE CROSSWALK.
Breakfast Club
Our club is running and active! Please note that the club begins at 8:45. There is no supervision for children before that time. Students coming for breakfast must arrive between 8:45 and 8:50.
Are you Moving?
If you know that your family is moving outside of the Annie Foote School area and will not be attending our school next year, please let the office know as soon as possible. This is important information as we plan moving forward.
Spring into Fun!
Our spring music concert is taking place on Thursday, May 30 at 5:30. This one-hour concert will feature music that our K-6 students have been preparing in their music classes. Due to the capacity of the gym, we ask that only parents and siblings attend the evening concert. There will be an afternoon dress rehearsal for additional family members or parents who cannot attend the evening concert. The time will be announced soon. Please see our poster!
Moosehide Campaign
On Thursday, May 16, we will be participating in the Moosehide Campaign. “Moose Hide Campaign Day is a day of ceremony where all Canadians are called to join together to take a stand against violence towards women and children and to take practical steps for our collective journey of reconciliation.” Each of our students will receive a moosehide pin on Thursday. As always, our teachers will be addressing this topic keeping the age of their students in mind.
Have a great week J
Heather
