AFS Weekly Message Oct. 23-27 | Grade 4 Learning, Staff Development, Fun Lunch, Snow, Halloween

Thank you to the parents who came to the School Council Annual General Meeting last night. Our executive was elected with the exception of a secretary. If you are interested in joining Council, please contact the main office.

Ms. Chirstina Jupo and Mr. James Leonard, grade 4 teachers, showed the council what our Grade 4 students have been learning since the beginning of the year. Highlights include a field trip to the Weaselhead Flats Natural Environment to learn about plants and the students' terrariums/mini ecosystems that have in the classroom. Students have also been learning time by playing Bingo!

Today the Annie Foote staff was engaging in our own learning. Former principal, Tania Brown, led a session on MindUp!, a program that helps students regulate. We also looked at developing rich tasks in mathematics and discussed strategies that will be used in the school to promote student well-being.
