AFS Weekly Update Dec. 11-15 | Month of Giving, Christmas Activities, Holiday Support, Pickup
Dear Annie Foote Families,
December is the Month of Giving and it revolves around people making a difference in society by helping others. Annie Foote families are doing just that!
We are pleased to share that exactly 140 boxes of cereal were donated for our food drive. I've attached a copy of the Cereal Run in the gym but it may not open for you!!! Cereal Cereal "domino" run
This week, we are collecting cans and a tower is going to be built in the front foyer! Thank you for your continued support.
Ms. Grover’s Kindergarten class has been practising kindness by helping each other, giving compliments and inviting each other to play at recess.
Mr. Buzanko’s class read “The Giving Tree”, a traditional Metis Story and created beautiful pieces of art modelled after the illustrations in the book.
Christmas Activities
- Students will join Ms. Whitehead and Mrs. Scholz in the gym the last week of school to sing some secular carols such as Frosty the Snowman, Jingle Bells and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer
- Wear a Christmas sweater or red/green on Thursday, December 21
- Popcorn/movie/pyjama day is December 22. Please submit your popcorn orders by Monday’s deadline.
Holiday Support
Our Bachelor of Social Working students, Russell and Amany, have compiled a list of Holiday activities and supports. Please feel free to access any of these before or over the holidays. See Resources.
Pick-up
A friendly reminder to let the office know if you are picking up your child who regularly takes the bus. After doing bus attendance, it takes time to find out that your child has been picked up and it delays our busses. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Heather
