Dear Families,
On Wednesday, the grade four classes had a wonderful time hosting a guest presenter from the Leighton Art Centre. They designed and created clay landscapes of Alberta to go along with their art program and social studies learning. Everyone had a great time learning about the family that the art centre was named after and seeing some of their art pieces. We especially enjoyed the antlers that we could touch! Thanks to our school council and outstanding volunteers for helping support such wonderful learning opportunities!

Mr. Leonard and Ms. Jupo’s class had an online visit this morning from NASA scientists Brenna Biggs and Dr. Emma Knowland. They are currently in Thailand (where it was 10:30pm!) working on the Airborne and Satellite Investigation of Asian Air Quality (ASIA-AQ) project. This mission is looking at air quality and air pollution issues in Asia. Students had the opportunity to see what the inside of a laboratory plane looks like and the technology that is used to collect air pollution data.
Change of Clothes
As the snow is melting, there are many puddles in the schoolyard. We ask that students avoid playing in the water but sometimes accidents happen and a child gets their clothes wet. Parents, could you please send an extra set of clothes in your child’s backpack just in case they get wet? This applies to our Division 2 students as well! Today we had many students wanting to call home because they got wet at lunch recess.
Conferences
Our conferences are taking place on March 21 and March 22. There is a combination of student-led conferences and parent teacher meetings. Please visit this story on our website for more information.
Forks and Spoons
We are no longer able to give out forks and spoons to students. Please ensure that your children have these utensils packed in their lunch kits.
