Dear AFS Families,
As we come to the end of another wonderful school year, I want to take a moment to thank you for your continued support, partnership, and involvement in your child’s education. It’s been a year filled with learning, growth, and many special moments that we’ve shared as a school community.
This week was a great week of celebrations. We had a lovely Grade 6 Farewell on Tuesday with many families in attendance. We wish our Grade 6 students all the best as they move on to their respective junior high schools.
All of our Kindergarten classes visited the fire hall over the past three weeks. Our students were treated so kindly by our local firefighters.
Yesterday, our sports day was a great success. Thanks to Mr. Murray and the Grade 6 team for providing a wonderful time for our students. The children loved the freezies provided by our parent council. The afternoon ended with a tug of war where the Grade 6s proudly beat the teachers!
This morning, our Grade 3 students hosted a year-end assembly. Watching the slide show with a summary all the learning and fun our students have had over the year was overwhelming!
I thank the teachers for their dedication, creativity, and the heart they bring to our school every day. They make this place not just a school, but a community. Sadly, we are saying goodbye to four teachers who have worked with us this year. We wish the very best to Ms. Kaur, Ms. Sughrue, Ms. Schmalz and Ms. McIntyre.
To our students—congratulations on all you've accomplished! You’ve worked hard, shown kindness, and made us all proud.
To our families—thank you for your trust and collaboration. We couldn’t do this without you.
