Dear Annie Foote School Families,
What a wonderful start we have had to the school year. Thanks to you for preparing your children to meet their teacher and new friends. It is such a delight to see the students already engaged in learning and to see all of the smiles.
Pick up and Drop off Procedures
For the safety of your K-2 children we ask family members to:
- stay behind the pylons when dropping off and picking up your children. This is so the teachers can see your child clearly
- wait for the teacher to dismiss your child. Please do not call your child from the door or the line. This is very important as the teachers need to see an adult before allowing the child to leave. Most teachers have a signal such as an ‘elbow bump’ with the students so they can let the teacher know they are ready to go.
- please park on the east side of Temple Drive when picking up your child. There is limited parking on the west side as there is a bus zone and handicapped parking. Dropping off your child in the staff parking lot is not permitted.
- soon we will have our grade 6 patrollers out helping students cross the street. Please use the crosswalk and set a great example for your children!
Recess and Lunch
During the school day, members of the community are asked not to be on the field or playground. Parents are not allowed to take photos or videos of their child when on the school grounds. Once again, this is for the safety and security of all children.
If you need to drop off a lunch for your child, please bring it to the school before 12:00 PM, label it with your child’s and teacher’s name and place it in the bin inside the front door. The lunch supervisor empties the bins at 12:00 PM and will deliver the lunch to your child.
Breakfast Club
Our breakfast club begins on Tuesday! Students in Temple must arrive between 8:45 AM and 8:50 AM to come in for a sit down breakfast. Students coming from Prairie Sky on the bus can have a ‘grab and go’ breakfast. Families who find it difficult to give their children a nutritious breakfast for whatever reason are welcome to participate. Ms. Hina Qazi is excited to see the students on Tuesday!
Friendly Reminders
- all students from Kindergarten to Grade 6 are required to have indoor shoes
- students are asked to have a refillable water bottle
- bicycles, scooters, and hoverboards should be walked while on school property. This policy is enforced for older siblings coming to pick up their little brothers and sisters as well
