I hope you are enjoying the long weekend!  This week will be another exciting one at Annie Foote. This month we are celebrating Kindness.  The student voice group wants to recognize students being kind to one another so is giving out hearts and stars to their peers who show a random act of kindness.  Our goal is to fill the Kindness is Cool board by the gym. 

100/101 Days of School

When the staff was deciding whether to celebrate 100 or 101 days of school, they decided on BOTH!  On Wednesday, February 21, teachers will be having students participate in activities to celebrate 100 days of learning.  Being creative, we’d love to see what your child would look like as a 100 year old!  And….on Thursday, February 22 we are all going to wear black and white, like the 101 Dalmations and Mrs. Scholz is going to be dressing up like Cruella de Ville.

School Council

This month’s school council meeting is at 6:00pm (note time change) in the Learning commons.  Our Grade 2 team of teachers will be presenting.

Healthy Hunger this month is LITTLE CAESAR’s.  Healthy Hunger day is Wednesday, February 28th for the Mon/Wed Kinder class and Thursday, February 29th for everyone else. The last day to order is February 22 for the Mon/Wed Kindergarten and February 23rd for the rest of the school.

Late Arrivals

Although there has been some improvement this week in the number of students arriving late, there is a lot of room for improvement. We understand when there are unforeseen circumstances (vehicle won’t start, traffic accident) where your child may be late. However, there is a growing lineup of late students, which requires our front office to spend a long time writing slips and entering late data into attendance. Most importantly, late arrivals take away from and disrupt the learning of others who are on time.  I ask that you adjust your morning schedule, or make small changes to your routines so that you are bringing your children to school on time. Doors open at 9:00, LEARNING BEGINS AT 9:05. Thank you.

Monday, February 19 – NO SCHOOL FOR STUDENTS, Family Day

Tuesday, February 20 – Skate Night!  (Pre-booked) Please check your tickets to see if your one-hour skate is at 5:30, 6:30 or 7:30pm. A reminder that this is a family skate night and an adult must be present with their child(ren). Please bring a helmet if you have one.

Wednesday, February 21 – 100 Days of School. Dress like a 100 year old J

Thursday, February 22 – 101 Days of School. Dress in black and white. School Council 6:00pm in the learning commons.
