Hello Annie Foote families,

I hope you had a great summer!  We’re excited to begin the 2025-2026 school year and want to give a special welcome to all our new families – so glad you’re here!

If you have moved over the summer and will no longer be attending Annie Foote School, please inform the office as soon as possible. 403-777-6680

The first day of school is Tuesday, September 2 at 9:05am.  On Thursday or Friday this week you will receive a phone call from your child’s teacher.  The teacher will tell you where to meet on Tuesday morning (or Wednesday for the Monday/Wednesday Kindergarten class).  If, for some reason, you did not receive a call, please see Ms. Gwen at the table outside between the playgrounds and she will help you find your child’s teacher.

For students arriving on the bus, we have staff who will help them find their teacher.  For younger students, especially those new to the school, we would appreciate you placing your child’s name somewhere visible as sometimes it is difficult for children to share their information with us on the first day.

We ask that our students have a backpack, a lunch and snacks, a water bottle and a pair of shoes to be kept indoors.  Indoor shoes are required for our older students as well.  We also encourage our Kindergarten and Grade 1 students to have a change of clothes in their backpack.

Our bell times are Monday to Friday 9:05am – 3:40pm and Friday from 9:05am to 1:00pm.  Lunchtime is from 12:05 to 12:50pm.  Please note the change in bell time on Friday from 1:05 to 1:00pm.

I look forward to communicating with you over the course of the year.  Each Friday you will receive an “AFS Weekly Message” email that explains some student activities and achievements over the course of the week as well as information and reminders for the following week.

For information about Annie Foote School and more Back to School information, please see our website.

If I don’t have the opportunity to see you next week, I hope to meet you at our Meet the Teacher evening on Thursday, September 18.

Sincerely,

Heather Scholz, Principal
